Belize
August 6-13, 2011:
Ambergris Caye is justly the most popular attraction to the tourists who come to Belize. The factor that most contributes to this is the unbelievably superb diving & snorkeling conditions. Accessibility to the dive sites, such as Lighthouse Reef, Turneffe Islands, as well as many excellent sites right off Ambergris Caye, combined with excellent weather conditions, clear warm water, the variety of dive sites and an average water temperature of 84 degrees Fahrenheit in August. We also have the "Blue Hole" on the agenda.
You can often see turtles, moray eels, barracuda, king mackerel, eagle rays and southern stingrays, as well as the little things like Pedersen shrimp, colorful gobies cleaning stations, and Spotted Drums.

Dive Lake Ontario
August 13-14, 2011
Sea Ventures Dive Shop will visit Kingston, Ontario to dive into the maritime history of the Great Lakes. Kingston hosts one of North America's largest concentration of fresh water wrecks ranging from 18th century paddle wheelers to modern, tugs, tankers, and ferries. I know, you are saying that that is too cold for me. On August, at a depth of 30 feet, the water temperature is about 74 degrees fahrenheit.
Next you will say "well, that is too far away for me". Well Kingston is only 2 hours longer than a trip to Hatteras Island. There is plenty to do for the non-diver as well. Kingston, Ontario abounds with quaint shops, and history.
Don't forget to get your passport up-to-date.
Diving includes 2 boat dives per day on the SPV Proteus.
Cost will be determined as the time approaches

Sea Ventures 2011 U-Boat Tour:
The SSI U-Boat Diving course, developed exclusively by Sea Ventures, is a three-night/one-day (classroom, pool, and quarry) course that will familiarize students with German U-Boat operations off the U.S. East Coast during World War II and educate them on the special skills and equipment necessary for exploring these historic wrecks. The SSI U-Boat Diving course is strictly a recreational diving course. During the course, students will be trained in conducting scuba dives to U-Boat wrecks no deeper than 130 fsw. Students will be prepared to externally examine U-Boat wrecks only; no penetration training will be conducted. All dives will be no-decompression dives.
The course consists of:
- Three classroom sessions, during which students will learn the history of German U-Boat operations on the U.S. East Coast and the equipment, techniques, and procedures necessary for diving on them.
- One pool session, where students will have hands-on practice with wreck diving equipment.
- Two dives at Millbrook Quarry, where students will employ wreck diving equipment and techniques in a controlled open-water environment.
- Additionally, a field trip to dive an actual U-Boat wreck is required for certification. The field trip is not included in the cost of the course.
